Nowadays women are independent and they are using their hands to achieve life goals by doing farming as income generating.
Agriculture is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s economy and through agriculture the production has been increased in the sense that people are harvesting more crops. Also agriculture has ensured food self sufficiency.
In our society there is a stereotype of women being dependent on men whilst they are making it in life. Women grew crops like beans, maize, tobacco, mushrooms and someone are rearing livestock like chickens. Therefore, women are small holder farmers and it sustain Zimbabwe’s economy.
Women who are in farming sector they are able to pay school fees of their children up to University level through selling their crops.
Mrs Chimhoga says ” am supplying mushrooms in big shops and am unable to supply their needs , also l pay fees for my children things are going so smooth”.
Women in agriculture are able to sustain their family needs and they never sleep on empty stomach. Due to introduction of pfumvudza people are harvesting more maize and it boast the economy thus it provides answers to food security.
Mrs Homodza in Musana Village states that” due to introduction of command Agriculture am seeing changes in my life, able to supply my family with food and am rearing chickens at my yard.
Therefore, people’s salvation is in their hands in the sense that women are using their hands to supply their family needs.
